Carolyn Risilia is an inspirational leader and senior care industry veteran, having spent almost 30 years as an advocate for the rights of older adults. With a foundation of compassion and empathy, Carolyn’s expert intuition offers unwavering support to seniors and their families-often during the most vulnerable and complicated aspects of the aging journey.
Carolyn is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and has held executive level positions and led regional operations across a comprehensive continuum of care including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Home Health Care and Geriatric Rehabilitative Care. We are so happy she has now chosen to make Theia her home where she leads the Client Services Team.
Carolyn is extremely well versed in the regulatory and compliance environment of the senior living industry, having held multi-site regional operations roles at Sunrise Senior Living, Brookdale Senior Living and as the Executive Director and Chief Administrator of a residential facility. Most recently, Carolyn served as a divisional operator at Bayada Home Health Care, one of the nation’s largest providers of home health care. In yet another senior care related role, Carolyn served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Fox Rehabilitation, a company that provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services in the homes of seniors and in assisted living communities.
Carolyn received her Bachelor of Arts degree, Maxima cum laude,from LaSalle University in Philadelphia with a concentration in Speech Communication and Psychology. She is a member of Argentum and has served as a committee member for the Alzheimer’s Association, Philadelphia Chapter. In 2019, Carolyn’s passion, expertise, energy, and ability to inspire others earned her one of Bayada’s great honors, as she was chosen as the recipient of the Pat Mallee award for Compassionate Leadership.
When not advocating for seniors, Carolyn enjoys the company of her two daughters and her two golden retrievers at her home in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
